Strawberry Lemon Drops

Strawberry Lemon Drop
I love, love, love lemon drops.  Recently, my cousin Tonya introduced me to something even better-- the strawberry lemon drop.

Basically the normal ingredients for a lemon drop are shaken up with fresh strawberries and the result is absolutely glorious.

I urge you to give it a try.  I made mine with citrus flavored Vodka, but plain vodka is fine too.

Ingredients:
2 parts vodka (no flavored stuff…just plain old vodka)
1 part fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 part simple syrup
4-5 strawberries
ice
Directions:
First make your simple syrup.  Put one cup of sugar and one cup of water in a saucepan and heat it over medium heat until the sugar is disolved.  Let it cool.
Fill martini shaker 3/4 full with ice. Add a few strawberries, halved. Add vodka, lemon juice and simple syrup. Shake vigorously about 30 times until strawberries have muddled (turned the liquid pinkish) and drink is well chilled. Pour into martini glasses and garnish with a strawberry.

Enjoy!

We also crushed some candy Lemon Heads for the rim of the glasses! Love the idea of adding strawberries.
