| Homemade Cream Cheese Danish |
This delicious cream cheese breakfast Danish is so simple and takes only about 5 minutes to whip up. Why? Because it is made with Pillsbury Crescent dough, and tastes just like a delicious danish from a bakery. I found this recipe on allrecipes.com and altered it based on user comments. They turned out fantastic.
Give these a try, they will be a hit! Perfect for a Christmas breakfast, coffee with friends, or a bridal or baby shower.
This recipe would also be fantastic with a little cherry pie filling, lemon curd, or raspberry jam in addition to the cream cheese.
Ingredients:
2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons sour cream
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a cookie sheet.
Do not unroll the tube of crescent rolls. Instead, cut the roll into 8 equal pieces. Working the dough with your hands, flatten each piece into a disk and make a well in the center for the cream cheese filling.
In a large bowl, mix together cream cheese, white sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract and sour cream. Spread a spoonfull of filling into the center of each dough "well".
Bake in preheated oven until golden. Enjoy!
