I only use 2 cups of sugar and it turns out great. Also, you can add an 8 oz. can of crushed pineapple(drained). It keeps it moist, and adds to the flavor.
I forgot about this recipe! I used to make the one from the allrecipes site all the time! I made this last night with my kids and made the following tweaks: We used white whole wheat flour for half of the flour. I left out the cloves (since I only had whole cloves and didn't feel like grinding them). I used coconut oil (since we prefer it). Oh and 2 cups of sugar was plenty. We made this into muffins (25 mins).
